In October of 2013, I (Brad) went on my first mission trip with Stonecreek Chuch, In Milton, Georgia and traveled to Guatemala in order to serve our partner ministry Hope for Guatemala. It was on this trip that I instantly fell in love with the people and the country of Guatemala. It became very clear on that trip that God was calling me to serve on the mission field long term. I went on two more trips, then on my fourth trip Becca traveled with me to Guatemala, and on this trip it was confirmed to her that we were called to serve as full time missionaries.
In June of 2016 the time will come for us to take a step in obedience as God calls us out of our comfort zone that we have living in Alpharetta, Georgia and we will move our family to live in Guatemala. We are excited to share in this adventure with our 8 year old son, Bryce and 1 year old daughter, Baylee. Once in Guatemala we will spend our first 6-8 weeks in Antigua in an intense study of the Spanish Language. After completion of this course we will move directly into Guatemala City to follow the vision God has placed in our hearts. We will be working with Hope for Guatemala to help assist the everyday operations of the ministry. I will be working directly with hosting the many teams that come down from the many partner churches as a liaison between the trips and the ministry. I will also be working with the teenage boys and looking forward to investing in their lives and walking beside them, studying God’s word together as well as just helping them wherever it may be needed. Becca will be working directly with the teenage girls, specifically the volunteers she will be able to pour into them and come alongside them on a daily basis. She will also be looking to work on the sponsorship program on the Guatemala side, improving communication and structure of the program. Most importantly we are going to be providing hope to the hopeless and showing them the gospel and the love that Jesus has for them.
As Hope for Guatemala is a non-profit that works solely on donations, we will not be paid a salary. In order to make it to Guatemala, go to language school and set up a home, we need to raise $25,000 up front. We also need partners who are willing to commit to 18 months of monthly support for cost of living. We would love to speak with you further about details and how your partnership will impact hundreds of families and many generations!
